Just tell your story in a simple, straightforward fashion.

Here is an example of a useful story:

A female employee/coworker, Wendy, had a death in the family. There were lots of empathy statements and cards to her from coworkers around the office. 

Wendy has partnered with a coworker, Bill, on many projects over several years. Banking industry. Bill, white, is married with children. He has never had a complaint against him in the workplace for any reason, has had superior annual reviews, and is educated, well-spoken, and well-mannered, not a drinker. Bill works in commercial lending and has made millions of dollars for this bank over the years. 

Contextual to the death in her family, Wendy asks Bill for a hug in a public setting. Bill complies. Wendy later complains to Human Resources, women only in that department, that Bill sustained the hug too long. Bill is immediately terminated from his position of 22 years and escorted out of the building from the job site by security. There is no investigation, no opportunity for explanation or rebuttal. Bill is not allowed to see the complaint or notes on the complaint. Bill is instructed not to contact Wendy in any way, with police action threatened.
